O3 Wins a Gold ADDY Award

Y'all must be a bunch of hipster, boutique-agency-lovin' sons of guns! While we didn’t exactly pull a Slumdog Millionaire and walk off with a ton of hardware (or packed plastic in this case), we are happy to announce that our Philadelphia web design company won our first ever Philly Gold ADDY Award last night. We won the award for Undrcrwn under the Consumer Flash Website category. This was the first time we submitted to and attended the ADDYs, which overall, was a pretty well designed event.

We definitely learned a thing or two from this year’s experience. For one, the ad community must like to drink, considering there was a bar every 15 feet. And two, if we are to submit again in the future, it’s good to know that if it's not a flash website, its got no chance of winning. The ADDYs should really be calling for Advertising Campaign Websites. Because it’s clear they use the two-click method when judging….and the first click needs to result in an, “Oh, COOL! Look at it move!” response.

As a tip for the ADDYs to potentially increase their revenue stream, it might not be a bad idea to take the Interactive categories a little more seriously, and get some reputable judges on board in that space. I’m sure you’d have many more submissions, which results in more money by the way, from Interactive firms in the city that are developing much more than a pretty picture, including Razorfish, Digitas, Compass, Happy Cog and several others.

The other good thing about only winning one award is that it’s easier to single people out. We’d like to thank Hilary Sedgwick, Ian Holt, Andrew Regis and Brandon Gray for making the site come to life, and to Dustin Canalin, the Owner of Undrcrwn, for giving us the opportunity.
