We are proud to announce the partnership between O3 and Back on my Feet, the non-profit organization that promotes a healthier lifestyle for the homeless. We will be working with BOMF to re-develop their website, including integrating a new E commerce platform, in conjunction with the announcement for the roll out of their 3rd city on June 19th, 2009. Already in Philadelphia and Baltimore, founder Anne Mahlum has grown the organization rapidly since its inception 19 months ago. Mahlum, recognized by CNN as one of their 50 International Heroes recently, now has 112 members and 450 volunteers (Numbers that increase significantly each month). They also offer job training, educational scholarships, and housing assistance for those of us who are less fortunate.
We are creating a user-friendly CMS that will enable them to update their site and dynamically create sub sections in their site as they expand into more cities. We are also creating an E Commerce functionality, to allow for promotional codes, discounts, and more of a robust inventory system for tracking.
As an example of Back on My Feet’s efforts, they are trying to place Issac (pictured above) within their organization. Isaac, who was formerly homeless, has built himself up to be quite an asset internally, and with the help of Back on My Feet members, or people that just want to help out, they are raising money to pay his salary. Please check out Isaac’s blog when you have a moment, and hopefully you can help out too.
