We start by defining objectives and developing a clear understanding of your brand position and goals. A number of critical questions are addressed including who your audience is, what their needs are and what the best way is to address those needs through design and technology methods.
Once those objectives are defined, we launch the development process with a thorough industry analysis. This defines our approach and strategy, from outlining the new site architecture and technical specifications, to deciding on the best practices necessary to design and develop the new site. This ensures that the front-end and CMS back-end are being utilized in the most efficient way possible.
The design phase begins with the wireframe and graphical interface development which lays out the site's architecture. Working closely with the client, we define hierarchies of information for each section and how the pages will correlate with each.
Once the wireframes and interface design have been approved for each page, the front-end development occurs. We construct our sites using W3C standards, XHTML and CSS. We may also use Flash to develop particular components of the site should we feel it necessary. As each page is approved and completed, quality assurance procedures occur. We test all of our XHTML and CSS in IE 6 and 7 in Windows, Firefox 1.5+ in Windows and Mac OS, and Safari in Mac OS. As each page is completed and approved, it is checked off on the master checklist and handed to the tech team for CMS integration.
Based on a systematic outline of procedures and technical specifications referenced from the Industry Analysis phase, our back-end solutions may be built in one of several different languages using a number of O3 products necessary to complete the project. Since all of our software is customized, we choose the solution that is best suited and most flexible for your business needs.
Much like our front-end development testing, each piece of the site is used, reviewed, commented on, revised and redelivered. From in-house account executives to each member of our production team, all of our tech solutions undergo a thorough quality assurance check to ensure that they work according to plan. We test each component and the site as a whole among staff and a few key demo-users to gain feedback and make changes in order to create the best user experience possible.
Once everything is perfect and the client signs off, we get paid, and everyone is happy!
