How I Grew a Gallery in 90 Days

Growing a gallery isn’t easy. While we had the seed (or the idea created by Kenny Kim), I don’t think we recognized how much sun, water and attention the seed needed to grow. The MMS Gallery’s seed was to showcase everyday pictures taken be everyday people through the use of their smart phones.

The Kind of Short Client Guide to Building and Launching a Website

We are proud to announce that we launched three sites in the last three weeks: www.RigidLifelines.com, www.MetaSource.com and www.CaronTexas.org. While all three were challenging projects in their own right, each launch was made easier because of fluid communication and thorough interaction with the client.

The Interactive Project Manager Recipe

Project management in the advertising industry is an often misunderstood and under appreciated position. At their best, project managers can streamline communications between clients and company staff, ensure time lines stay on track, and keep the project scope in check. If they’re really good, they can even create new business opportunities within the client relationship. Although at their worst, they complicate the process, have a hard time explaining the needs of the clients effectively, suffer from multi tasking inefficiency, piss off the production staff and can bruise the relationship with a client.

An O3 Exclusive: A Brand Within a Box

Our web design company recently partnered with rock band Nomad Superhighway for a special job with a targeted goal. They needed us to create custom promotional packaging for their album that was going to have exclusive, limited distribution to Record Labels and Radio Stations. Our challenge was to ensure that the packaging had as much of an impact as their music. They came to us with a blank slate and creative freedom to develop this design around a logo and their music. There only request was that it had to all be contained in a black box. The boxes would be created as a limited edition run; each containing media packaging with CD and DVD, Press Photo and Liner Notes with a Bio of the band.

Quantitative Proof that You Probably Don’t Need an iPhone App... Yet

Stats

It’s no secret that mobile browsing and smartphone platforms like the iPhone and Google’s Nexus One are having a significant impact on how we access the internet. As new browser technologies and platforms pop up frequently, we as strategists and web developers are constantly challenged to adopt new approaches and development practices. Of course, as these new technologies become available, we also field all sorts of questions about interfacing with them. While we are always enthusiastic about developing new and exciting products for our clients, if your traffic indicates that your audience won’t care… then why waste the money?

Jingle Bells. O3 Throws a Party.

Another year capped by another festive party! We had a great turn out this year, and a perfectly staffed party as well. From photographer Andrea Monzo, who captured some great candid shots, to a delicious encore performance from last year’s caterer, John Blanchet, to the most important part of the party…our festive bartender. And not to trump all of them, but the MVP of the night definitely went to the Dirk Quinn Band, who were rocking out some festive Holiday jams.

SEO vs. Design – Round 2: O3 Strikes Back

SEO vs. Design – Round 2: O3 Strikes Back

Recently, you may have noticed some subtle changes to our O3 site, particularly to the home page. We’ve just wrapped up the first month of a year-long engagement with SEER Interactive, and it was suggested that we make some changes to help with the process. Our goals are fairly simple: we want to place on the first page of results for a handful of regionally relevant web design, branding and marketing terms. We had no idea the battle that would follow.

People, Presents and Pints: An O3 Holiday

Now that we’ve opened up our gifts, put on a few Holiday pounds, and burned out on Holiday tunes, we’re happy to celebrate the year that was at O3 World. Our Holiday party was a fitting end to the year, which included a hipster Santa, a dying Christmas tree, and a “spirited” bartender... we really hope she made it home safe.
