Anne Mahlum, the founder of O3 World’s non-profit partner Back on My Feet, was recently recognized by Woman’s Day Magazine as one of the nation’s Top 50 Women Who Are Changing the World. She was awarded the honor for changing the world by motivating the homeless. This is obviously a pretty tremendous feat, considering she is among others like Orpah, Katie Couric, Angelina Jolie and Billie Jean King, but it’s even more impressive that she is being honored at 29 years of age.

We crossed the 20in24 finish line! 20in24 is the race that our non-profit partner Back on My Feet hosts to raise awareness and money for their cause. In addition to providing a more traditional relay format, they also have a midnight madness run, a pajama loop run, and the lone ranger ultra marathon, which has become known as one of the most popular in the country. We are proud to not only be a sponsor of the event, but also active participants, as Gadsby and Scandone of O3 World will be once again competing in the race, and competing in their pre race competition SeeO3Run.

Michael Gadsby beat Keith Scandone by decision after 3 rounds of a grueling match of Blind Boxing at North Bowl. The match, still under protest, ties up the competition between the two, with 3 events left to play. The campaign, See O3 Run, is being run to raise money and raise awareness for Back on My Feet, the non-profit organization that promotes self sufficiency for the homeless, through running, to build confidence, strength and self esteem.

Either way, next month there is a great opportunity to dust off your cool kicks and sport them at work, with a great cause attached to it- Back on My Feet’s Sneaker Day. Back on My Feet, a Philadelphia non profit who uses running to promote self-sufficiency in the homeless population, is celebrating its two year anniversary with a two week long celebration that includes multiple events along with Sneaker Day. Here’s how it works - You donate $5 online through the Sneaker Day Donation Page and bring your sneakers to work on June 19th and you are all set (Make sure your company has teamed up with Back on My Feet for Sneaker Day- we do not want you to get in trouble)! We are proud to announce the partnership between O3 and Back on my Feet, the non-profit organization that promotes a healthier lifestyle for the homeless. We will be working with BOMF to re-develop their website, including integrating a new E Commerce platform, in conjunction with the announcement for the roll out of their 3rd city on June 19th, 2009. Already in Philadelphia and Baltimore, founder Anne Mahlum has grown the organization rapidly since its inception 19 months ago. Mahlum, recognized by CNN as one of their 50 International Heroes recently, now has 112 members and 450 volunteers (Numbers that increase significantly each month). They also offer job training, educational scholarships, and housing assistance for those of us who are less fortunate.
