The pre-registration site for My Handwork Studio, a needle working and fashion community for kids, has launched!
The beta site, set to launch in December, will have video tutorials, social networking capabilities for kids, parents and educators, interactive games and an e-commerce package to purchase materials showcased in the videos. The pre-registration site already has a Flash-based character creator and registration module hooked up for sweepstakes entries, and in addition showcases thumbnail sketches of the additional features coming soon. The idea behind the site was to take the elements of The Handwork Studio, a storefront located in Narbeth, Pennsylvia, and make it accessible to kids across the Web. We focused on a number of user-generated elements that would be both educational as well as fun, while taking strict care to follow the COPPA guidelines to ensure children’s safety.
